Camel Natural Flavor
This cigarette brand is manufactured since 1913. Formula represents mixture of dark and rough Turkish tobaccos (Oriental) that were coming into vogue that time and light, mild Virginian (sorts: Virginia and Burley). Later it became known as American Blend.
American Blend becomes generally recognized standard of quality tobacco mixture, its' formula is used by many tobacco manufacturers all over the world.
Cigarettes with simple brand name - Camel became popular in USA and then in entire world. Camel as well as its' competitors tries to gain their market with the help of advertisement. At the beginning of XX century advertising wasn't well developed in mass media, that time was popular advertisement on banners where were imaged imposing people, who smoke Camel and also advertising slogans for example such as: "I'd Walk A Mile For A Camel", "Camel Time is Pleasure Time", "No other cigarette tastes so rich, yet smokes so mild."

Tobacco brand Camel was among the first who tried teaser advertisement in 1913.
Deciding that camel is not just catchy bright picture but also perfect occasion for advertising innovations, specialists of tobacco Company RJR in the several days prior to first lot of cigarettes going on sale gave advertisements in newspapers of almost ninety American cities.
The same year on cigarette pack appeared one of the most recognizable logos "Old Joe". In fact camel that is imaged on the pack of quality cigarettes is circus animal Barnum & Beily of American traveling circus. Namely its portrait later will get to all cigarette packs launched by the Company.
From the first days of existence brand creates around itself romantic image of free traveler. Exploiting such ideas as desire for travels, love to adventures, brand "creates its image". The fact that cigarettes of Camel brand have made part of American military divisions' ration only gave charm to the brand.

In 1974 when Britain art-rock band Camel has launched their second album Mirage. In USA the cover of the album became the reason of scandal: it has repeated almost in whole design of front side of Camel cigarettes pack. As result on American market album was launched with another cover. In Europe there were no claims to the band as its manager has managed to agree with European division of tobacco Company about launching advertising packs (for 5 cigarettes) with cover of Mirage album and list of compositions.

The album was released on Gama Records/Deram Records. Deram Records was created in 1966 by Decca Records in UK. Decca Records from UK has nothing to do with Decca Label Group from USA located in Santa Monica, California.
