Lucky Strike is one of the oldest cigarette brands. Though from beginning Lucky Strike was manufactured in form of chewing tobacco and only later were launched cigarettes. As it is written on every pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes they are manufactured since 1871.

BAT continues to promote brand in spite of the fact that in 2006 in North America their production was prohibited.

Lucky Strike manufacturers have always treated advertising of their products wisely and with humor. Manufacturers of these cigarettes were first who has related tobacco and weight loss. In 1920-1930's posters have informed women: "When tempted, reach for a Lucky instead; you will thus avoid overindulgence in things that cause excess weight". "Reach for a Lucky instead of a sweet" advertising slogans said.

Sales of Lucky Strike cigarettes have increased more than by 300% for the first year of this advertising campaign. Level of sales has grown from 14 billion in 1925 to 40 billion in 1930 what made Lucky Strike brand the leading national brand in USA.
As sign of gratitude to American women was issued new poster with image of luxury lady and inscription: "Ok, Miss America! We thank you for your patronage"

In 1960's TV advertisements were accompanied by words "Lucky Strike separates the men from the boys...but not from the girls". In 2007 in Lucky Strike advertisement the smallest man on the Earth participated - He Pingping.
In 1996 in San Francisco was launched manufacturing process of filtered cigarettes that became accessible on entire USA territory in 1999.
In 2004 Brown & Williamson Company has joined with R. J. Reynolds Tobacco forming Reynolds American Tobacco.
In 2009 Britain pack of lighter version of Lucky Strike cigarettes changes red color of circle to blue so that buyers would easier distinguish strong Original Red cigarettes from lighter Original Blue.
In 2010 the same design appears on Lucky Strike packs sold on Russian tobacco market. In Ukraine Lucky Strike cigarettes differ only with color of border on red circle.
According to data of British American Tobacco Company that owns the Lucky Strike trade mark, 60% of smokers who prefer Lucky Strike cigarettes are young people in the age of less than 30 years.
