Marlboro has renewed inconspicuous sponsorship of Ferrari
Formula One Team Ferrari has renewed sponsorship agreement with tobacco Corporation Philip Morris presented on the market by Marlboro brand, informs Autosport.
According to message, new agreement was signed till the end of 2015. In spite of sponsorship agreement, on Scuderia Ferrari boards there is no mentioning of Marlboro: in 2005 instead of logos of cigarettes' manufacturer on racing cars appeared images of bar code but last season they have disappeared as well.
Six years ago European Union has prohibited advertising what made Ferrari refuse application of Marlboro symbols on their racing cars. However, Philip Morris continues to sponsor Italian barn reaching marketing effect through associative relation between racing cars design and appearance of pack of cigarettes. Full official name of racing team remains Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro.
Previous agreement signed in 2005 expires when current season of Formula One finishes. Marlboro sponsors Ferrari from 1984 but in 1997 Italian barn remained the only participant of Formula One that is supported by Philip Morris Company. At present moment no of these Companies uses sponsor support of cigarettes' manufacturer.
